There’s no better time than now to be a rugby fan with the France World Cup officially in full flow and the action spreading all across the two months of September and October. With the best of the best from around the world facing each other there is no better time to get your support behind your local rugby clubs too, because their games are still going thick and fast as well! We know this at Hog Roast Southfleet because just last week we were invited out to our own local club to provide catering for their juniors game the afternoon before the England – Chile game.
With rugby fever in full flow the rugby club used the Sunday as a celebration of the great sport, joining together the afternoon’s match with an evening barbecue to watch the England match with. Hog Roast Southfleet were invited out to provide the barbecue – post-win fuel up and celebration, and a world cup feast all in one. The local lads ran out as worthy winners after a smashing match in front of a bumper crowd. Our Hog Roast Southfleet chefs were able to take in some of the match while we got our foods set up for afterwards and put our pork to roast for several hours. We were preparing a barbecue for the squad, everyone involved at the team’s clubhouse, and any spectators of the match that wished to join afterwards for the England match. For such a crowd we needed to prep plenty of our gourmet burgers and sausages in advance, as well as our veg and halloumi skewers, roast potato and fries selection, and plenty of veggie and salad accompaniments too. Thankfully our whole hog roast is also large enough to feed around a hundred on its own, so we had more than enough to cater.
With the local lads performance they more than earned their share of the barbecue and the hog roast, and clearly the England took some inspiration from their efforts to then dish out their own 71-0 drubbing to Chile. An excellent afternoon and evenings work all told – not just for the rugby lot, but also for Hog Roast Southfleet too!
