Last year we catered an enchanted forest themed prom for a Leicestershire based school. Every guest had a great time, with great music and lots of group photos- and our delicious Hog Roast Ashtead catering was a great bonus for everybody. We served a three-course meal at the prom, with table service for the main and dessert, and a buffet-style main course. Here’s how it went!
We started our day setting up our catering equipment at the venue 6 hours before the prom was set to begin. The organisers had requested a hog roast, among other dishes, so we needed to arrive promptly to ensure the hog was cooked to perfection by mealtime. While the hog was slow roasting, we got to work preparing the other menu elements, including chicken, lamb and beef burgers, as well as jack fruit and jacket potatoes for vegetarian guests.
Once the guests arrived, there was a period of photo taking and settling down, before we began to serve our starters. The Hog Roast Ashtead waiting staff served a variety of starters, including homemade soup, and salmon. The guests enjoyed the formality that our waiting team provided, and it was a great luxury to have food served tableside in a formal manner.
After the starters, we served our main course buffet style. As well as meats, we offered fresh wraps and bread rolls, salad and vegetable options, as well as side dishes such as potato wedges and chips. This was enjoyed by students and staff alike, and there was more than enough food to go around, plus some leftovers!
Finally, we served desserts to our guests, tableside. We had a range of dessert options on offer, including fruit salad, cheesecake and profiteroles. Once the desserts had been finished, we began to clear away our equipment and rubbish, leaving the guests to enjoy the rest of their night in style.
