Hog Roast Hook Green’s catering manager Jason would like to wish Jon congratulations on his baptism. Last Sunday Jon got immersed into a pool of water to symbolise his admission to Jesus Christ. It is a celebration of Jon’s “newness of life” (Romans 6:3-11) as a committed follower of the lord. Catering manager Jason was kindly invited into the church to witness the event.
To celebrate this joyous occasion, Jon’s wife Ruth had organised Hog Roast Hook Green to come and cater at the gathering of friends and family after the church service. After the church service, all the congregation gathered enjoying tea and coffee and having their weekly social exchange. It was a humble experience to watch and take in the sense of community. Eventually those who could stay joined Jon and his friends and family in the ‘small hall’ as they called it for games and lunch.
Ruth had selected an enticing menu from Hog Roast Hook Green which Jon was very excited about. What awaited Jon was a slowly roasted whole pig surrounded by herbed stuffing. Jon decided on a soft white roll which was filled to the brim with mouth-watering pulled pork and the sage and onion stuffing which complimented the flavours to the pork perfectly. Even though Jon likes his traditional apple sauce, he selected the sweet chilli sauce which he claimed completed his rather delicious roll. On the side, Jon enjoyed a mixture of normal and sweet potato fries and a meaty BBQ sticky rib. Jon’s little boy Eliza created his own cheese-topped roll adding the medley of chips to his pulled pork sandwich and completing it with tomato sauce. Eliza came back and gave his compliments to the chef. He was a friendly and confident five-year-old!
Jon thoroughly enjoyed the day, taking it all in his stride. A few family members and friends of Jon got rather competitive with a game of twister which kept everyone entertained for an hour!
Jason and his team was honoured to be part of Jon’s day.
