We cater for many birthday celebrations here at Hog Roast Woolwich, though we can be suitable for any special occasion you are planning. For Mary’s 50th birthday, she asked us if we could provide our services for her 60 guests, with a traditional centre-piece hog roast for most of her guests, but along side veggie skewers for her vegetarian guests. We’ve spent numerous years perfecting our vegetarian options, vegan and gluten free guests can enjoy our food as much as everyone else.
Mary was over the moon to find out that we also catered for gluten free diets as she’d had a last-minute response from one of her gluten-free friends. The veggie skewers would be served with chunks of haloumi cheese for the vegetarians with a special sweet chilli sauce. The hog itself we would cook for several hours before carving off the crackling and meat in order to make the rest of the guests lots of pigs in buns, as we like to call them.
On the day of Mary’s birthday, our Hog Roast Woolwich chef and his catering assistant arrived early to start setting up the equipment. We were catering for Mary’s birthday in the local community hall, cooking all the food outside then bringing the food inside for Mary’s guests to enjoy buffet style. Once the gazebo was set up outside and the serving table inside, the chef turned on the hog roast machine to a low setting and let the machine do its job.
Soon after, Hog Roast Woolwich’s hog roast was sizzling in its own juices, filling the air with the smell of freshly cooked pig and crispy crackling. Whilst our team finished off the veggie skewers, preparing the bread buns and stuffing, it was finally time for Mary’s guests to line up and grab a big bun of tasty meat.
