Sue and her family have always been incredibly close, but regular meetings have become rarer as her children have grown up, moved away, and started families of their own. This November, she is hosting a gathering to bring everyone together and enjoy a great meal as a family, with a little help from Hog Roast Swanscombe. For the catering, our manager Jason has been hired to serve a delicious meal to 30 guests at Sue’s family home in Dartford. Our classic hog roast menu has been selected for the occasion since it is perfect for enjoying on a cosy November evening. This will be followed by a tasty dessert course especially for the younger guests to enjoy.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Swanscombe team arrived at the private venue in the morning to give us plenty of time to prepare the two-course meal. We began by slow-roasting the hog, which was then expertly carved by our chef and served alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. The pork was served with all of the traditional trimmings, including roasted potatoes, homemade gravy, and roasted seasonal vegetables. Following the hearty main course, we served a selection of dessert options. The guests chose from sticky toffee pudding and profiteroles, with each dish accompanied by English cream and fresh berries. This course was a big success and went down a treat with everyone- but especially the grandchildren!
