Every so often something comes along that just sweeps through the world and gets everyone talking. Right now, that is Padel.
A variant of tennis mixed with a bit of ping pong, Padel has bene a revelation amongst UK sports. It’s great for all ages, all demographics, all sporting levels. Event at Hog Roast Ramsgate we have had whisperings of starting up a weekly Padel night, or even going as far as creating a team. Those whispers have only grown louder in the last few days as last week we came out to the brilliant REWD Padel club to cater for a very special corporate event.
REWD has been a great community hub for Ramsgate. Anyone can head along for a game or join one of their many fitness classes and community events. Local businesses can hire it out for their events, like the one the Hog Roast Ramsgate team catered last week, and enjoy a great space with plenty of room for all kinds of activities and sports.
For the Hog Roast Ramsgate team, this was our first time getting to see the place in action, and we reckon we’ll be back as soon as we can. It was a perfect spot for us to be able to cook and serve our gourmet barbecue range. A touch of easy and comforting cooking accompanied by a good bit of entertainment for our staff as we could also take in some of the action from the courts while we prepped and cooked. Plus, with Padel looking like hungry work, something quick and easy to whip up on the grill was ideal for those famished and tired out guests. To get those energy levels back up for heading out to the court again, we had fresh gourmet burgers, sausages, and Thai chicken kebabs with vegan/veggie friendly alternatives of veggie burgers or grilled veg and halloumi skewers. All that work on the court also called for some fresh carbs and refreshing veg, so we also had side accompaniments of Greek salad, pasta salad, creamy slaw, and fresh chips.
