At about three decades of catering service to events in the UK, we at Hog Roast Chislehurst reckon we’re doing pretty well in our finer age. Our thirty years, however, is nothing compared to the 90 years of life lived and celebrated by our featured customer of this past week, as the team at Hog Roast Chislehurst came out to a truly spectacular 90th birthday event!
When you’ve had 9 decades on this Earth, you deserve to celebrate in style. Luckily for “Dad”, the family had got together to plan everything out for 90th birthday celebration. Including 50 close friends and family members, and the chefs and servers of Hog Roast Chislehurst, it was well set up to be a perfect celebration of life lived.
A near century of life calls for extra hog roast portions, so of course head chef Jason made sure to pick out one of the juiciest, fattest and healthiest pigs we’ve got from our top end local stock. Thankfully, with the happy pig farms we work with in the UK, there’s always an abundance of such choice! Jason had our massive hog roast out on the roaster early in the day so that the full spit roast process would be complete by the 16.30 serving time. In that time, he was also then able to prep the usual fresh accompaniments of sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce, and utilise the fatty trimmings of the hog roasting process for some added crispy crackling, for even more crunch and flavour in every hog roast roll. Come serving time, guests could then also pile their plates high with freshly made coleslaw, mixed salad, potato salad, and our grilled veg and halloumi skewers with sweet chilli sauce and tzatziki dip as a veggie alternative.
The afternoon fell into a wonderful summer evening, all guests well served with seconds and possibly even thirds in some cases. As celebrations looked to continue later into the night, the Hog Roast Chislehurst packed up and made our exit, ensuring that not a single bit of mess or waste was left behind.
