Easter weekend is an excellent time to gather with family and enjoy a traditional Sunday lunch. As an event caterer, it is our privilege at Hog Roast Bexleyheath to be a part of your big family gatherings and to cook for you. Reminding us just so, this Easter weekend it was a joy to join the Allan family for their yearly Easter lunch together. There are a tonne of them in this big family, so lunch for the whole Allan family is better served catering style rather than at a restaurant during one of the busier weekends of the year for hospitality.
With 25 Allan family members in attendance, the family booked out a great hall just to fit them all in. Our Hog Roast Bexleyheath chefs, meanwhile, whipped up an excellent Easter feast to please everyone. At Easter and in spring, lamb roasts are quite a popular option because it is seen as a lighter roast more suited to the season. A much leaner meat, lighter than your fattier pork’s and beefs, it goes excellently with a refreshing mint sauce. This was option one in our special Hog Roast Bexleyheath Easter set course menu. Option two for the Allan’s was of course our signature hog roast, while the final option for the main was our vegetarian barbecue pulled jackfruit, marinated and cooked to look and taste almost exactly like our hog roast while being entirely vegan friendly. Most of the Allan’s went for our lamb roast because it is a more unique option not only in our menus, but also in most roast menus in general.
Our starter options consisted of a homemade soup of the day – this event being a carrot and parsnip soup – or our Scottish smoked salmon served with dill & mustard dressing & Atlantic prawns, Bloody Mary sauce, seasonal Leaves, avocado, brown bread & butter. For dessert, sticky toffee pudding, fruit salad, or our homemade individual cheesecakes.
This event with the Allan’s was an excellent way to spend Easter weekend. They were a fun bunch that made us feel right at home as part of the group while we cooked and served for them. We’d more than happy to join you all again next Easter!
